It's time once again for The Future American's FAIL OF THE WEEK! Every Saturday, I name a person or group who has spent the past seven days behaving in a particularly idiotic way. Since it's my belief that idiocy knows no politics, nobody is safe.

This week's fail was brought to you by Aaron James . I first heard this story from a friend of mine at the radio station, who is interviewing him for his Sunday show. In short, James ' story goes like this: while flying Northwest Airlines from Minneapolis to his home in Winnipeg, Aaron's mother was ordered to let a flight attendant examine her carry-on bag, which was deemed suspicious. Apparently this flight attendant also called them names over the intercom, and then, following an argument for which the details are unavailable, Aaron was carted off the plane and beaten bloody by a group of police officers. Then, according to this piece (all grammatical errors original):

. . . Aaron James  ad his mother were put on a no fly list, bussed back to Canada, AaronJames was tried in a tribunal type trial (the jury was composed of airport and Minneapolis police personnel!), targeted by Winnipeg police, harassed by American law enforcement and threatened by the FBI/CIA/Winnipeg police and Minneapolis police. An for what? Because he refused to be silent about the abhorrent treatment he and his mother received. Because the New World Order is afraid of individuals like Aaron James , who have backbone enough to stand up to tyranny.

It gets stupider. The pro-James  blogs that have written about this incident are adding, of all people, Sen. John McCain to their own personal no-fly list, as he used Northwest as his campaign carrier. I flew Northwest on a trip to Florida once; I guess I'm complicit, too! (Actually, the fact that I'm questioning the validity of these accusations at all is probably enough for them to indict me.)

I had not heard of this case before earlier this week, and the only information available on the Internet comes from a series of anti-New World Order blogs and Aaron's account of the story from YouTube. Naturally, it is assumed by his supporters that this is due to some mass conspiracy to silence all criticism against members of the New World Order. That should be enough to make most people's inner bullshit alarms go off, but even without it, there isn't one thing right about their argument. Only one side of the story has ever been told: theirs. I would go so far to suggest that James  made the whole thing up in a bid for attention. Say what you will about that argument, but it's more valid than this.

So-called evidence of the existence of an impending New World Order appears to have been on the rise since the recession started. Thankfully, nobody outside of that wing is buying it. Maybe they're too busy buying Northwest shares.
